2 fandoms this time, Peter Pan and The Phantom of the Opera, both 2004.

I'll admit, I'm not in love with these. I was a bit rushed to get them finished before work today. So there will likely be another batch coming in the next day or so. I'm off tomorrow, so maybe I can manage a big batch ^.^
(9) Peter Pan
(13) The Phantom of the Opera (some are variations)

The absolutely gorgeous caps for Peter Pan are by
dj_capslock and The Phantom of the Opera by secret-obsession.
PS - can anyone explain to me the significance of "keep your hand at the level of your eye?" Madame Giry says (sings) it several times, and then finally the Phantom says (sings) it when he is tying Raoul to the grate-thing. Any ideas? I'm really stumped.

Date: 2006-12-15 03:48 am (UTC)In the book, Mme Giry has a different role in the story, but there is a character, the Persian, who leads Raoul to Erik and Christine in the end. He says over and over again, "Keep your hand at the level of your eyes." And yes, it's to keep the punjab lasso from successfully making its way around a victim's neck. ALW gave Giry the line in the musical.
The reason Erik sings those same words to Raoul in his lair is to mock the Vicomte. Same reason he tells him to "order your fine horses now" but that also references that he heard Christine and Raoul on the roof of the Opera House.
If you enjoy the musical but haven't read the book, it's a compelling read ... and a bit of a different story, in my opinion. Both are quite good.
Cheers!
